The Year 2020 - Never to be Forgotten

Category Market News

Each and everyone of us have experienced 2020 in our own unique way. Unprecedented and in many ways life changing, I sit here at the end of this year and I would like to reflect what I have learned.

I pride myself in being a highly experienced property professional, but, there is no other way to say it, this year was tough. It was tough for everyone, but for me the hardest part was finding my inner resolve to soldier on and continue to provide my clients with a positive and professional outlook.

I changed brokerages mid way through the year after 5 years with my previous company. This change gave me the opportunity to relook at my professional life and learn new ways of doing business that the hard lock down taught me.

I enjoy the responsibility of ensuring that I minimise contact for my clients and myself because this gives me the freedom to utilise my time more efficiently.

Since the advent of the hard lock down, I regularly video call with my clients from anywhere in the world instead of meeting them on site. I also make videos of properties and send them to multiple clients to help them decide if they want to come to site. These tools help both my clients and myself avoid unnecessary travel. It also gives me a head start in the game as I can send a client videos of five or six properties before they see anyone of them allowing the client to choose the most suitable site before they have left the comfort of their home or office.

I cherish working from home and never travel to the office unless I have confirmed appointments. I utilise online tools to enhance my knowledge and understanding of a property before I make the journey to site. This helps me avoid unnecessary travel and to be more decerning when it comes to marketing property to my clients.

I get to choose what to do with the time I would have spent driving to the office each day to satisfy a boss with little faith in self motivation. This has changed the way I see my days and what my priorities for each are.

Whilst new tools and ways of working have been a key feature of 2020, there is still the need for a good old fashioned  phone call to enhance your relationships and build trust. I am never shy to pick up the phone and make a call even if an email or Whatsapp could suffice.

I would like to wish all clients of Chalupsky Properties all the very best for the coming festive season. May 2021 be a fantastic year for you and your families. Please don't hesitate to pick up the phone and give me a call if you are looking for tenants, to sell or are in the market to buy or lease a property.
